Soaper is built and maintained by Burnished Labs, LLC, an Oregon limited liability company. This page explains how to delete your data, or request that we delete it for you.

How to request deletion of your data

To request deletion of the data associated with your Soaper account, email us:

If you have not signed in, your Soaper account is anonymous and we may ask you for information needed to locate the correct account so we delete the right records. If you used the optional Google sign-in, your account is linked to that Google account and Firebase Authentication holds its email address and display name, which are removed with it. We will action verified requests within 30 days.

Delete your data yourself, in the app

  • Delete individual content: Deleting a recipe, saved blend, attachment, or other item in the app removes it from your device and from any associated cloud copy.
  • Uninstall the app: Uninstalling removes all data stored locally on that device.
  • Delete My Data (Android): Settings → Data Management → Delete My Data removes your content from this device and deletes the copy stored in the cloud — you do not need to email us. Standard oils and other catalogue items, and your app settings, are kept.

What data is deleted

On a verified deletion request, we delete the cloud records associated with your account, including:

  • Your account identifier — and, if you signed in with Google, the email address and display name held by Firebase Authentication
  • Trial and subscription status records
  • Your Soaper library: recipes and their ingredients, moulds, batches (including phase progress, timers and notes), inventory items and purchase lots, suppliers, brands, custom ingredients you created, your edits to catalogue items, shopping lists and completed shopping trips, recipe activity history, saved oil blends, and your app preferences
  • Photos and documents you attached to recipes, oils, fragrances, colorants, additives, or suppliers (and their metadata)

What data may be kept, and for how long

We may retain a limited set of records where we are required to by law, or to prevent fraud — for example, purchase and transaction records needed for legal, tax, or accounting purposes. These are retained only as long as required by applicable law and are not used for any other purpose. Payment details themselves are never held by us — they are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google Play.
